
Guwahati, 23 May (HS): Northeast Frontier Railway successfully organised Rozgar Mela programmes at Guwahati, Dimapur and Siliguri as part of the Government of India’s nationwide employment generation initiative. The events were held simultaneously with Rozgar Melas at 47 locations across the country, where more than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly selected candidates for various Central Government departments.
NFR CPRO Kapinjal Kishor Sharma said on Saturday that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the programme through video conferencing and addressed the newly recruited candidates at 11 AM. During his address, the Prime Minister urged the youth to contribute towards nation building and public service while underlining the Centre’s emphasis on transparent, merit-based and technology-driven recruitment processes.
At Guwahati, the programme was organised at Rang Bhawan Auditorium at the NF Railway Headquarters in Maligaon in the presence of Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Lok Sabha MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi. Senior railway officials, led by Additional General Manager of NFR Veer Bhadra Vishwakarma, also attended the event where appointment letters were handed over to newly recruited candidates.
The Dimapur Rozgar Mela was held at Town Hall in the presence of Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles Pabitra Margherita along with senior officials and dignitaries. Selected candidates received appointment letters during the programme.
Meanwhile, the Siliguri event took place at Officer’s Club in Kashmir Colony, New Jalpaiguri, with Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan, Jalpaiguri MP Jayanta Kumar Roy and local MLAs in attendance. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from newly appointed candidates and officials from various departments.
According to officials, the appointments were made across multiple Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Officials stated that the Rozgar Mela initiative continues to play a significant role in connecting youth with employment opportunities in government service while strengthening the Centre’s focus on inclusive growth and empowerment through large-scale recruitment drives.---------
