Ghaziabad, 23 May
(HS): Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, a former Union minister and senior BJP leader,
unleashed a stinging attack on the Congress on Saturday, claiming that sky-high
hubris and gutter-level tactics have transformed the grand old party into a
lobby of failed politicians. He further said that the Congress and Samajwadi
Party (SP) are in for another unpleasant awakening in the Uttar Pradesh
Assembly elections in 2027.
Addressing the opening session of a BJP training
course in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, Naqvi attacked the Congress and the SP,
claiming that Rahul (Gandhi) and Company had become a
playschool of professional political bashers. According to a
statement made by his office, following losing polls in West Bengal and Assam,
opposition parties have resumed their political manoeuvring ahead
of next year's Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.
However, the clash of objectives within the
opposition alliance is obviously evident, he added. Naqvi claimed that the
opposition's poor script of vote fraud will be insufficient to save it from
political extinction. He stated that opposition leaders who believe in
hit-and-run tactics and lynching of constitutional institutions must stop their
premeditated attempts to undermine democracy. They must reflect to understand
why the public is always challenging their arrogance, he continued. The
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader stated that the Congress' fixation with
holding democracy hostage to dynastic politics has already been smashed in the
West Bengal and Assam Assembly elections, and it is likely to face a similar
fate in the next elections in Uttar Pradesh and other states.
Continuing his assault on the Congress and the SP,
Naqvi stated that the parties, which are driven by dynasty politics, are poised
for another harsh shock in next year's Uttar Pradesh elections, failing to gain
the people's mandate. He also stated that during the ongoing global crisis, the
country has been fortunate to have a stable government led by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, who has emerged as a problem solver.
