
Dhubri (Assam), 23 May (HS): Former Bilasipara MLA Ali Akbar Miah, who was arrested over his controversial remarks concerning cow sacrifice ahead of Eid and for allegedly issuing threats against the Chief Minister, was interrogated throughout the night by Dhubri Police.
According to police sources, the former legislator fell ill during questioning in the early hours of Saturday. He was immediately shifted to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Officials said Ali Akbar Miah’s condition is currently stable. After receiving medical attention, he was brought back to Dhubri Sadar Police Station where interrogation resumed under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police attached to the Crime Investigation Branch.
Meanwhile, police informed that the former MLA is likely to be produced before a court later on Saturday as further legal proceedings continue.---------
