Shirdi, 23 May (HS): Sudden rise in demand for

petrol and diesel up to 30 per cent is suspicious. The demand has increased at

the onset of Kharip season. The hoarders creating artificial shortage will not

be spared, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Shirdi on Saturday.

While talking to the media on his arrival in Shirdi,

Fadnavis said the state government has derived a smart procedure to verify RC

Book and dispense diesel to the farmers in need. The pattern will be

implemented all over the state. The government machinery has also decided to

initiate stern action against hoarders for creating artificial shortage of

petrol and diesel.

The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased

for the third time in the last ten days. The farmers and common people will not

be allowed to suffer due to shortage of fuel, Fadnavis said.

Fadnavis arrived at Shirdi by Vande Bharat Express,

instead of taking aerial route.
