Guwahati, 21 May (HS): Central Guwahati BJP MLA Vijay Kumar Gupta on Thursday took oath during the first session of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly in Sanskrit and termed the moment a proud and responsible milestone in his political journey.

After taking the oath, Gupta said he was deeply honoured to represent the newly formed Central Guwahati constituency in the Assembly for the first time. Carrying forward the love, blessings and trust of the people of the constituency, he pledged to begin his new journey in public service with commitment, accountability and a firm resolve for development.

The MLA further stated that he would strongly raise the hopes, aspirations, problems and rights of the people of Central Guwahati in the Assembly and remain committed to upholding the faith reposed in him by the public.

Expressing gratitude for the continued support and affection of the people, Gupta said their blessings and cooperation would remain the source of his strength and inspiration.------------
