New Delhi, May 21(HS): Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar will formally launch the Jeevan App and Caregiver Dashboard on Friday. According to the Ministry, the programme will be centred around the theme, “Creating a Seamlessly Functioning Care Economy.”

The main highlight of the event will be the introduction of digital initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of senior citizens. During the programme, the Minister will also outline the Ministry’s upcoming initiatives and roadmap designed to make care services for the elderly more robust, accessible, and efficient across the country.

Union Ministers of State for Social Justice and Empowerment B.L. Verma and Ramdas Athawale, Secretary of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment Sudhansh Pant, Joint Secretary (Senior Citizens), along with several other senior officials, will also be present on the occasion.

The Ministry stated that four major thematic areas have been identified for in-depth deliberations during the virtual event. Special virtual discussion rooms have been created where moderators, panellists, and speakers will hold discussions on a range of issues, including key policy challenges, gaps in implementation, emerging initiatives, best practices, and time-bound action plans.

According to the Ministry, the initiative aims to develop a comprehensive framework for care services by leveraging technology and community participation to effectively address the needs of India’s growing elderly population.
