- Fake Currency-Making Materials Seized in Sivasagar, Two Held

Sivasagar (Assam), May 21 (HS): In a serious concern over suspected counterfeit currency activities in Assam, Sivasagar Police seized materials allegedly used for printing fake currency notes and detained two persons during a special operation conducted in the district.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of the Additional Superintendent of Police Maydul Islam. Acting on specific inputs, police intercepted a battery-operated rickshaw near Talatal Ghar and recovered a large quantity of materials suspected to be linked to the preparation of counterfeit notes.

According to police sources, the seized materials were being transported in the rented battery rickshaw by the two detained individuals. Police also recovered four mobile phones from their possession during the operation.

The detained persons have been identified as Archad Ali of Dergaon and Bitul Bora of Dorikapar in Sivasagar district. Both are currently being interrogated as police continue their investigation to ascertain the possible network and source behind the counterfeit currency operation.-----------
