New Delhi, May 21 (H.S.): The troubles of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi may increase once again, as a police complaint has been filed against him in Delhi for allegedly using objectionable and derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The complaint was lodged at Tigri Police Station in South Delhi by Abhishek Dubey, spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Delhi unit, seeking the registration of an FIR against Rahul Gandhi.
According to the complainant, during a public event held on May 20 (Wednesday), Rahul Gandhi allegedly used provocative and inappropriate words such as “traitor” while referring to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. Dubey stated that such remarks not only undermine the dignity of the country’s highest constitutional offices but also have the potential to spread hostility, anger, and public unrest. He added that the use of such language from a public platform is completely against democratic decorum and political civility.
The complaint has urged the Delhi Police to take the matter seriously and immediately register an FIR against Rahul Gandhi under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable legal sections, followed by appropriate legal action.
The complainant further stated that such indecent conduct in politics must be firmly discouraged to ensure that no individual in public life dares to use such language in the future.
