
New Delhi, 21 May (H.S.): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday reviewed the progress of quality and maintenance of 11,672 kilometres of national highways in Uttar Pradesh.
During the meeting, Gadkari stressed timely execution, strict adherence to quality standards, and the adoption of advanced technologies to ensure that the highway infrastructure remains durable and efficient.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the review meeting was held here based on feedback received from media and social media platforms. Union Ministers of State Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra, along with officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), NHIDCL, the Ministry, and project contractors, participated in the meeting.
Gadkari emphasized that a strong road network is essential for enhancing connectivity, accelerating economic growth, and improving passenger convenience.
He directed officials to ensure comprehensive monsoon preparedness, including the implementation of preventive measures and the establishment of an effective response mechanism to maintain road safety and durability across the network.
