New Delhi, May 21 (H.S.): In an effort to strengthen institutional collaboration, Delhi University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh held a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

The delegation was led by ICCR Director General K. Nandini Singla. The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance institutional cooperation aimed at promoting internationalisation, cultural engagement, and student outreach.

During the discussions, representatives from both institutions deliberated on strategies to attract a greater number of international students to Delhi University and explored ways to establish the university as a preferred global academic destination. The meeting also focused on various challenges related to international student engagement and examined methods to address them through collaborative initiatives.

The ICCR delegation included Deputy Director General Dr. Rajesh Ranjan, Director of Scholarships Dr. Sanjay Vedi, and Vinod Rani Kapoor. Delhi University was represented by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh along with Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta, Chairperson of International Relations Prof. Neera Agnimitra, and Dean of the Foreign Students’ Registry Prof. Roopam Kapoor.

During the interaction, both sides emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy and student welfare. In this regard, they agreed to introduce yoga sessions for international students. Additionally, sessions on Indian classical dance and music will also be organised with the aim of providing international students with a deeper understanding of India’s rich cultural heritage and wellness traditions. The initiative seeks to nurture culturally enriched global ambassadors of India.

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor also guided the delegation on a tour of the historic Vice Regal Lodge. During the visit, he shared insights into the rich historical legacy of the iconic heritage building.
