
New Delhi, 20 May (H.S.): Portugal announced their squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 on Tuesday. Veteran star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo will once again lead the team. He is joined by several other star players, including Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Vitinha.
The 41-year-old Ronaldo is set to play a record sixth FIFA World Cup in his career. With this achievement, he will join the list of Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.
The Euro 2016 champions have been placed in Group K at the World Cup, where they will face DR Congo, Colombia, and Uzbekistan.
Before the World Cup campaign begins, Portugal will play warm-up matches against Chile and Nigeria. The team will then begin its campaign against DR Congo on June 17. Portugal will face Uzbekistan on June 23 and Colombia on June 27.
