New Delhi, May 20 (H.S.): Arsenal F.C. have secured the Premier League title after Manchester City F.C. were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Following the draw, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City moved to 78 points, while Arsenal remain on top with 82 points. With only one league match remaining in the season, City can no longer overtake Arsenal in the standings, confirming the London club as champions.

Arsenal last won the Premier League title during the historic 2003-04 season under legendary manager Arsène Wenger. During that memorable “Invincibles” campaign, the team completed the entire league season unbeaten.

This season, Viktor Gyökeres emerged as Arsenal’s leading goal-scorer with 14 goals, while Martin Ødegaard and Leandro Trossard each provided six assists, playing crucial roles in the club’s title-winning campaign.

Goalkeeper David Raya claimed the Golden Glove award for the third consecutive time after recording 19 clean sheets during the season.

The triumph also marks the first league title for Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta, who took charge of the club in 2019. Before joining Arsenal, Arteta served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach for nearly three-and-a-half years at Manchester City.

Following their Premier League success, Arsenal will now turn their attention to the final of the UEFA Champions League Final, where they are set to face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain F.C..
