Silchar (Assam), 16 May (HS): Despite continuous heavy rainfall and reports of landslides from different parts of Assam and the Northeast, railway services between Badarpur and Silchar are operating without any disruption.
Confirming the situation on Saturday, NF Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma stated that train movement on the Badarpur–Silchar section remains normal and all scheduled services are running smoothly.
Railway sources said a minor mudslide had occurred near the railway track at Panchgram, close to Badarpur, on Friday. The debris was immediately removed by railway workers, preventing any impact on train operations.
Officials further informed that the affected location is under constant surveillance as a precautionary measure in view of the ongoing rain. The railway administration has assured passengers that the situation is stable and there is no reason for concern regarding train services on the route.-----------
