
Mumbai, 15 May (HS): A van carrying 600 kg of silver
plates met with an accident on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on Friday. Two
people died in the accident.
The accident occurred under the jurisdiction of Kasa
Police Station in Palghar district. The van carrying 20 plates of silver weighing
600 kg collided with a trailer killing two people and injuring third one. The
van was going to Gujarat from Mumbai. The cost of silver was about Rs 17 crore.
The collision occurred as the driver lost control over the van.
Kasa police personnel rushed to the site and took
the silver safely into their custody. The dead bodies were sent for the
post-mortem and the injured was admitted to a hospital.
