Patna, 15 May (H.S.):
Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President Harshvardhan has congratulated young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi on his selection for the India A team, which will feature in the tri‑series to be held in Sri Lanka. He termed the selection a moment of pride for Bihar cricket.
The BCCI men’s selection committee has announced the India A squad for the one‑day tri‑series to be held in Sri Lanka in June 2026. The series will feature India A, Sri Lanka A, and Afghanistan A. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has earned his place in the team on the strength of his outstanding performances in the IPL 2026 and for being counted among the country’s emerging batting talents.
Representing Bihar in domestic cricket, Vaibhav Suryavanshi grabbed the attention of cricket fans for his aggressive batting and consistent performances for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026. His scintillating century in the league was widely praised across the cricketing fraternity.
BCA President Harshvardhan said, “My heartfelt congratulations to Vaibhav Suryavanshi on being selected for the India A team. This achievement is not just a matter of pride for him but for the entire Bihar cricket fraternity as well. Vaibhav’s performance at various levels, particularly in the IPL, clearly shows that players from Bihar are proving their talent on big stages. His form reflects the wealth of cricketing talent and potential within the state.”
It is worth noting that last month BCA President Harshvardhan had also lauded young fast bowler Saqib Hussain, who took four wickets on his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals.
BCA officials believe that such achievements by Bihar‑born players are positive signals for the state’s cricket ecosystem and will motivate more youngsters to pursue a professional cricketing career.
