
Bhubaneswar, 15 May (H.S.): Odisha CM Mohan Majhi on Friday announced a 2 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners on Thursday. The DA will rise from 58 percent to 60 percent, as stated by the Chief Minister's Office.
This revised Dearness Allowance will be effective retroactively from January 1, 2026. Government employees will receive the increased amount as cash along with their May 2026 salary.
Additionally, the state government has raised the Dearness Relief (TI) for pensioners by 2 percent. Pensioners will receive this revised benefit with their May pension payments.
The state government estimates that approximately 8.5 lakh government employees and pensioners will benefit from this decision.
