15 May (HS): The City Congress Committee members have strongly condemned the
hike in petrol, diesel and CNG prices across the country. During a meeting held
this afternoon at the party office in Chowk under the president ship of City
President Fuzail Hashmi, leaders stated that the rise in fuel prices would
increase transportation costs, which in turn would affect freight charges,
ration supplies, vegetables, and other daily essential commodities.
Congress
leaders held the Prime Minister’s foreign policies responsible for the sudden
situation and expressed concern that prices of petroleum products may rise
further in the coming days. Among those present were former UP Congress
Committee spokesperson Kishore Varshney, Coordinator Harikesh Tripathi, Mukund
Tiwari, Parvez Siddiqui, Manas Shukla, Afroz Ahmad, Anoop Tripathi,
spokesperson Shahnawaz Qureshi, Dr. A.D. Dubey, Nayan Kushwaha, Rajkumar
Shukla, Ishtiyaq Ahmad, Sushmita Yadav, Rakesh Srivastava, Sartaj Mohammad,
Pratima Tripathi, Mohammad Javed, Sachin Kushwaha, Rakesh Patel, and others.
