Lucknow,

15 May (HS): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Lucknow University Unit

strongly condemns the highly inappropriate, obscene, and derogatory phone

conversation by Paramjeet Singh, an Assistant Professor working in the Zoology

Department, with a female student of the Faculty of Science. ABVP maintains a

clear stance that academic campuses must remain sacred spaces dedicated not

only to educational learning but also to ensuring a completely safe, secure,

and respectful environment for the holistic development of students, where a

petty and malicious mindset has absolutely no place.

The

shameful incident came to light after an audio recording surfaced and went

viral on social media. In the recording, the said Assistant Professor is heard

not only making indecent remarks to the student but also pressuring her to come

to his private cabin, demanding sexual favors, and boasting about his ability

to leak examination question papers. Due to this heinous act of harassment and

exploitation, the victimized student is facing severe mental trauma and

currently feels deeply unsafe within her own campus, which is a matter of grave

concern for any sensitive institution.

Taking

a strict stand on this entire matter, ABVP Lucknow University Unit President

Sri Jai Srivastava stated,Tarnishing the sacred tradition of Guru and

disciple in such a prestigious institution is deeply unfortunate and entirely

unforgivable. ABVP demands the immediate dismissal and prompt arrest of teacher

Paramjeet Singh for harboring such a malicious and predatory mindset. ABVP

stands with full resolve to ensure justice for the victimized student. We

demand that the university administration, local police, and the Government of

Uttar Pradesh invoke the strictest provisions of the state law concerning the

integrity of examinations, file charges under relevant sections for sexual

harassment, and arrest the accused immediately. If the administration fails to

take swift and exemplary action against the culprit, student council activists

will be forced to launch a fierce, widespread agitation.
