New Delhi, 12 May (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the swearing‑in ceremony of Assam’s new government, held in Guwahati on Tuesday. She extended her congratulations to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and all members of his council of ministers who took oath of office.

In an X post, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that Assam today is scaling new heights of development as a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and the policy of establishing the Northeast as the “Aṣṭalakṣmī” (eight‑fold prosperity) of India. “This is the outcome that has led the Bharatiya Janata Party to this historic hat‑trick, which stands as a symbol of people’s trust and stability,” she added.

The Chief Minister stated that the identity, dignity, and recognition given by the Prime Minister to the states of the Northeast are now receiving widespread public support at the grassroots. The massive mandate in Assam, she said, is clear evidence of this. The resolve of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” has further strengthened the new era of service and good governance in Assam.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the newly formed NDA government will fulfil the aspirations of the people and play an effective role in realising the vision of a prosperous and developed Assam.
