New Delhi, 12 May (H.S.): Union Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, has reviewed India Post’s APT 2.0 digital platform and said that the system is transforming into a modern hub for logistics and services. APT 2.0 is providing branch offices with real‑time intelligence, enabling the analysis of local demand, performance monitoring, and faster, data‑driven decision‑making.
The Ministry of Communications stated that the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is allowing the postal department to analyse large‑scale operational data, anticipate outcomes, automate routine tasks, and make service delivery more efficient. The Minister said this has led to faster service delivery, reduced manual intervention, improved decision‑making, and higher customer satisfaction.
Dr. Pemmasani added that the business impact of APT 2.0 is equally visible. It is helping to strengthen outreach to customers in rural and semi‑urban markets, improve service adoption at the branch level, and open up new revenue opportunities through timely, data‑based engagement. He described this shift as a key step toward making the postal department the backbone of national logistics.
The Minister said the government is closely monitoring implementation at the grassroots, driving a shift in the organisation from a traditional system to a technology‑based, corporate‑style culture. Digital push mechanisms have also strengthened data security and cybersecurity, ensuring reliable and future‑oriented public‑service delivery.
