
New Delhi, 11 May (H.S.): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday for a detailed discussion on a range of important issues concerning the Union Territory.
In a social‑media post after the meeting, the Chief Minister said the talks focused on several critical subjects, including the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, business rules, rationalisation of reservations, and other important aspects of governance and public‑welfare administration.
Abdullah also noted that the discussion covered the current security and economic situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Both leaders emphasized the need to ensure lasting peace, stability and inclusive development in the region.
Sources indicated that the meeting also touched upon preparations and security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, underscoring the importance of smooth management and safety for the annual pilgrimage.
The meeting marks another round of high‑level interaction between the J&K leadership and the Centre, as both sides continue to engage on constitutional, administrative and security‑related matters affecting the region.
