Guwahati, 10 May (HS): Leader of the NDA Legislature Party and caretaker Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday met Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Lok Bhavan and formally staked claim to form the new government in the state.

Union Minister JP Nadda, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia along with NDA legislators were present during the meeting with the Governor.

The development comes ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP-led NDA government in Assam scheduled to be held on May 12.-----------
