Bengaluru, 10 May (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that Congress is engaged only in the politics of lies and betrayal. There is no chapter on governance in the Congress party’s book of power. He said the people of the country stand with stability, development and national policy, and that is why the Bharatiya Janata Party and the NDA continue to receive strong public support. The Prime Minister made these remarks at a public rally in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

PM Modi said that Congress itself is false and so are its guarantees. He alleged that for the past three years in Karnataka, instead of resolving people’s problems, most of the government’s time has gone into internal conflict. He said it is not even decided in the state how many days a chief minister will remain in office or who will get the chance.

Describing Congress as a “parasitic party,” the Prime Minister said it betrays even its allies. Referring to Congress’s ties with the MK Stalin-led DMK in Tamil Nadu, he said that despite a years-old alliance, Congress, in its hunger for power, “stabbed its partner in the back.”

PM Modi said that public welfare is the top priority for BJP governments and that their guiding principle is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” He said the BJP model is a model of good governance, which is why people in different states have given the party a second and third chance to serve, while Congress governments in the states have failed to return to power.

The Prime Minister said the NDA has been in power at the Centre for the past 12 years, and in more than 21 states, BJP or NDA governments are working with the mantra of development. He accused Congress of spreading hatred against democratic institutions, constitutional processes and the judiciary. PM Modi said Congress has sunk so deep into despair that it has no agenda left except abuse and foul language.

Referring to recent election results, he said the NDA formed the government in Puducherry for a second consecutive term, won a third term in Assam, and received unprecedented support for the BJP in West Bengal for the first time. He said these results reflect the mood of the youth, women, farmers, the poor and the middle class, and send the message that India wants stability.

PM Modi said the country wants “speed, not scams,” “solutions,” and “national-policy politics.” He added that the entire nation is now moving step by step with the BJP’s national vision.

The Prime Minister also referred to the BJP’s expansion in West Bengal and Kerala. He said that at one time the BJP had only three MLAs in Bengal, but today the party has a government there. He also said that BJP’s strength in Kerala is steadily growing, and in the future, a BJP-led alliance will also cross the majority mark there.

PM Modi said May 10 is a historic date because the first spark of the freedom struggle was ignited on this day in 1857, eventually breaking the chains of British rule. He said that this legacy of courage and strength remains the country’s greatest power. The Prime Minister also mentioned the first anniversary of “Operation Sindoor” and said he would attend the ceremony marking 75 years of the reconstruction of the Somnath temple in Gujarat.
