New Delhi, 01 May (H.S.): BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of arriving at the Punjab Legislative Assembly under the influence of alcohol.
Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal posted on social media platform X on Friday, stating that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann once again arrived at the temple of democracy—the Punjab Assembly—completely intoxicated today. She claimed that Bhagwant Mann visits Gurudwara Sahib, temples, Lok Sabha, and government meetings after consuming alcohol, and was even deboarded from a plane abroad due to excessive drinking.
Targeting the Punjab Chief Minister sarcastically, Maliwal said that before elections, Bhagwant Mann had placed his hand on his mother's head and promised never to drink again. She questioned how the Chief Minister of a sensitive border state like Punjab can remain perpetually intoxicated and sign files under the influence. How can anyone betray public trust like this?
Swati Maliwal attacked Punjab's Chief Minister, questioning how a man who stays away from alcohol only during sleep can govern Punjab. Criticizing Bhagwant Mann, Swati demanded that the government conduct an alcohol test on the Chief Minister. She stated that if found guilty, he should be immediately removed from office.
