Kathmandu, 01 May (H.S.): On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah extended his greetings and said that every journey should lead toward finding solutions to problems. He added that the path shown by Buddha is the path to the end of suffering, guided by knowledge and wisdom.

In a social media message, he wrote, “Buddha said: ‘There is suffering, there is a cause of suffering, there is the cessation of suffering, and there is also a path to the cessation of suffering.’ The path shown by Buddha is the path to ending suffering. Darkness is simply the absence of light. When a ray of light enters, darkness disappears on its own.”

He further wrote, “Our journey should also be in search of that light of wisdom, and on the path to solving problems. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Buddha, the great and timeless promoter of peace, I wish for world peace. Blessed by the birth of Buddha, our Nepalese land has always stood for non-violence and peace.”

In his message, Shah also said, “True revolution does not begin with ‘k’ but with ‘gy’, and that ‘gy’ is knowledge.”
