Prayagraj, 01 May (HS): Following the passing of Shivratan Agarwal, alias
Phanna Babu, a prominent member of the Haldiram family and founder and CMD of
Bikaji Foods International, on Friday, Uttar Pradesh Government's Industrial
Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi visited his residence in Sadulganj,
Bikaner, Rajasthan, to pay his respects. He paid his respects while attending
the condolence meeting.
Minister Nandi said that Shivratan Agarwal, a renowned industrialist and CMD of
Bikaji Foods International Limited, was a visionary entrepreneur who
transformed Bikaner's traditional Bhujia industry into a global brand and
introduced machine-based Bhujia production. The tragic demise of Fanna
Babu is an irreparable loss to the industry.
Minister Nandi said that he had met Fanna Babu a few days ago during his visit
to Bikaner.
Minister Nandi said that during the factory tour, Phanna Babu personally
explained every detail. This account of his work demonstrates his intense
connection to his work, even after reaching the pinnacle of success.
Minister Nandi said that during dinners at the same table, he had heard many
valuable experiences and stories from his life. His simplicity,
straightforwardness, and tact had captivated him. Minister Nandi said that with
his tragic passing, we have all lost a successful entrepreneur, a humble man,
an experienced mentor, and an outstanding social worker. His passing is like
the loss of a senior guardian from the Vaishya-business community.
He said that his love and connection to his soil is an inspiration to all of
us. Through his work, he demonstrated that we can achieve real and
fundamental progress only by remaining connected to our roots. He has
left behind a rich legacy of service work, through which he will always remain
