New Delhi, 01 May (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a skill development campaign on Friday, on the occasion of International Labour Day, aimed at training 35,000 workers annually.

The Chief Minister participated in the Labour Honour Ceremony organized by the Labour Department and Delhi Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board at the Sant Nirankari Hospital construction site in Dhirpur. She announced the establishment of modern labour chowks and labour service centres for workers, stating these will deliver essential services directly to them.

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed safety kits to 1,000 construction workers and education kits to 100 children from labour families. She interacted with workers to understand their problems and assured their resolution.

Appreciating workers' role in accelerating Delhi's development projects, she said large construction works are being completed on time due to the tireless efforts of labour brothers and sisters.

The Chief Minister stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed the honour of labourers at the centre of governance thinking and policy. Under his guidance, the 'Viksit Bharat' vision advances through worker empowerment, where every worker is safe, respected, and connected to opportunities. In this spirit, her government is completely waiving registration and renewal fees for registered

construction workers.

Additionally, the Collective Marriage Scheme will provide dignified support to labour families.

Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra and a large number of workers were present on this occasion.
