
Bhubaneswar, 01 May (H.S.): The Indian National Congress in Odisha has initiated disciplinary action against two of its members for alleged indiscipline during a recent protest programme.
According to party sources, Aravind Das, former coordinator of the Mayurbhanj (East) District Congress Committee, has been suspended from the party. The action stems from allegations of disorderly conduct during the gherao of the Mayurbhanj District Collector’s office on April 18, 2026.
In a separate development, Udayanath Behera, Vice President of the Angul District Congress Committee, has been expelled from the party. His primary membership has also been terminated on similar grounds of indiscipline.
The action was confirmed by Sujit Padhy, Chairman of the Odisha Congress Disciplinary Action Committee, who reiterated the party’s commitment to maintaining discipline and organizational integrity.
