India's senior women's hockey team heads to Argentina this month for a four-match series from April 13-17 at CeNARD in Buenos Aires. The series pits India against the formidable South American hosts on their home turf, promising thrilling encounters on April 13, 14, 16, and 17, starting at 11:00 AM local time (6:30 PM IST).

Recent clashes between the teams have been fiercely competitive, including a 2-2 draw in last June's FIH Pro League 2024-25 decided by shootout. This tour offers crucial match practice against top-tier opposition, aligning with Hockey India's roadmap for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup (Belgium/Netherlands) and this year's Asian Games.

The series provides high-intensity preparation, allowing the coaching staff to test player combinations and strategies ahead of key calendar events.

Chief coach Sjoerd Marijne stated, We're taking a 24-player squad—a deliberate choice to expose more athletes to elite competition. Argentina ranks among the world's best, revealing each player's true level under pressure, especially who steps up when it counts.

He added, Team players come first. Individual skill matters, but without synergy and mutual support, securing a spot becomes challenging.
