Vinay Muralidhar Tonse assumed the role of Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Yes Bank on Monday, succeeding Prashant Kumar whose extended tenure ended April 5.

Three-Year Tenure Approved

Officially appointed for three years with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approval and subject to shareholder consent, Tonse brings over 35 years of banking expertise. His experience spans treasury, retail banking, corporate banking, international operations, and asset management—including prior MD role at State Bank of India (SBI).

Leadership Transition

Yes Bank positions Tonse to steer the next growth phase, leveraging his SBI background managing retail business and operations across vast networks. Kumar's departure caps his tenure since stabilizing the bank post-2020 reconstruction.
