New Delhi, 06 April (H.S.):
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced nominees for March Player of the Month on Monday, shortlisting India's Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah in the men's category for their pivotal roles in the ICC T20 World Cup triumph.
Samson dazzled with unbeaten 97 vs West Indies, followed by twin 89s in semi-final vs England and final vs New Zealand, steering India from tough spots to title retention. His late-tournament surge earned Player of the Tournament honors.
Bumrah's lethal bowling claimed 7 wickets at 12.00 average (economy 7.00), peaking with 4/15 in the final vs New Zealand—defending 255 while conceding just 15. He dismantled key Kiwi batsmen like Rachin Ravindra and Mitchell Santner.
