Government e-Marketplace (GeM) crossed ₹18.4 lakh crore in cumulative Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), solidifying its position as India's leading digital public procurement platform.
Commerce & Industry Ministry highlighted GeM's evolution into a transparent, efficient, inclusive system strengthening public economy. Surging participation from MSMEs, women-led enterprises, and startups drives procurement growth, connecting diverse businesses to government demand while promoting fiscal inclusion, sustainability, transparency.
CEO Mihir Kumar noted the GMV feat reflects buyer-seller-institution trust in tech-driven procurement. GeM prioritizes MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, SC/ST firms, startups via inclusive access. In FY 2025-26, MSMEs executed 68% of orders (47.1% GMV share).
Over 11 lakh MSMEs registered; FY26 secured 51 lakh+ orders worth ₹2.36 lakh crore (20% YoY growth). 2.1 lakh+ women-led MSMEs garnered ₹28,000 crore+ orders (28% growth).
