New Delhi, 05 April (H.S.): The ongoing West Asia crisis is now rippling into India's fuel markets, with state-owned oil marketing companies raising CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) prices following recent hikes in premium petrol, industrial diesel, and jet fuel. Torrent Gas has led the surge, citing supply pressures from the US-Iran war disrupting global energy flows.

In Uttar Pradesh, CNG rates jumped from ₹93.50 to ₹96.25 per kilogram. Jaipur saw increases up to ₹2.50 per kg, pushing prices to ₹95.50 per kg across Rajasthan outlets. Punjab's rates hit ₹94.25 per kg, Telangana reached ₹99 per kg, Gujarat stood at ₹85.17 per kg, Maharashtra at ₹94.50 per kg, and Tamil Nadu at ₹94 per kg.

Broader Fuel Price Pressures Mount

This follows commercial LPG cylinder hikes on April 1 by up to ₹218—the fifth in four months for hospitality and business use. Domestic 14.2-kg LPG last rose ₹60 on March 7, 2026. Nayara Energy and Shell India recently upped petrol (up to ₹7.41/litre in Bengaluru) and diesel (up to ₹5/litre petrol, ₹3/litre diesel).

Yet, to cushion crude oil spikes from Hormuz Strait threats, the Centre slashed special additional excise duty: petrol from ₹13 to ₹3 per litre, diesel from ₹10 to zero per litre.

These adjustments reflect volatility as Iran's strikes on Gulf targets and Trump's ultimatums unsettle supplies, squeezing urban commuters reliant on CNG autos and autos.
