New Delhi, 05 April (H.S.):
The 68th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle electrified Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex on Saturday, drawing over 800 participants to a vibrant fitness carnival ahead of World Health Day.
Fitness zones buzzed with badminton, table tennis, cricket, tug-of-war, yoga, skipping challenges, and nostalgic indoor games like carrom, ludo, and snakes & ladders. High-energy Zumba, yoga consultations via Ministry of AYUSH's Yoga 365 initiative, smart wall challenges, and darts captivated all ages.
Delhi resident Ritu Sharma raved: I came just to cycle, but this feels like a full fitness festival. My kids are smashing badminton and table tennis while I flow through yoga—something for everyone!
Jasmeet Chandok added: The vibe is unreal—music, games, cycling. Pure World Health Day carnival energy.
Healthcare workers from Indian Medical Association and Indian Red Cross joined enthusiastically. Guests included ex-cricketer Parvinder Awana, powerlifter Mukesh Gahlot, and para-athlete Pushpendra Singh. Awana urged: Don't limit this to Sundays—make fitness daily. Gahlot called it a refreshing new experience, while Singh praised PM Modi's initiative as life's best adoption.
A Raahgiri Foundation street play highlighted active lifestyles and safe public spaces, as young doctors and nursing students hailed the hospital-outside festival vibe.
