Bulandshahr,

3 April (HS): Three youth, reportedly enraged by a 17-year-old friend's

repeated requests to communicate with their sister or cousin, killed him and

placed his body in a well, authorities said on Friday. The adolescent has been

missing since the evening of March 29, when he left his house in Chhotabans

village, Uttar Pradesh, after receiving a phone call. On April 1, his family

filed a missing person report; the next day, his body was discovered in a well

on the village's outskirts; and his three pals were arrested on Friday. According

to the police report, Anmol did not return after heading out on March 29. A

case was filed at the Ahmedgarh police station, and an extensive search was

launched.

During

interrogation, Rajat, Ankur (alias Sunny), and Monu, all 18-19 years old and

inhabitants of the same hamlet, stated that they were acquainted with Anmol. According

to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Tejvir Singh, Anmol allegedly requested

that Ankur mediate a communication between him and Rajat's sister, which Sunny

declined. Anmol allegedly wanted to talk with Sunny's cousin. They contacted

Anmol on March 29 and requested him to meet them outside the hamlet, fed up

with his constant pleas.

They got

him inebriated, then hit him on the head with a brick before strangling him.

According to the SP, they put the corpse down a well to hide its whereabouts. Police

stated legal action is being taken against the three youths. Police claimed

they had retrieved the brick used in the crime, the clothing they were wearing

at the time, and the deceased's phone.
