New Delhi, 29 April (H.S.): Despite evolving situations in West Asia, the government assured Wednesday that household cooking gas (LPG) supplies remain seamless nationwide, with no shortages reported at distributors and online bookings hitting record highs.

Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry stated during an inter-ministerial briefing that no stock depletions have occurred. West Asia tensions have impacted LPG imports, but domestic supplies proceed without interruption, she said, noting doubled 5-kg cylinder sales—21 lakh in February and 21.05 lakh so far in April—via 9,550 awareness camps selling 1.5 lakh units. Retail outlets operate normally with ample stocks; refineries run at full capacity, selling 8,900 tonnes of propylene and 950 tonnes of butyl acrylate from Mumbai, Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Mathura, and Gujarat facilities.

Additional Secretary Mukesh Mangal from Ports, Shipping, and Waterways confirmed Shipmin India's close monitoring, with DG Shipping handling over 8,000 calls and 17,000 emails—including 114 calls and 276 emails in the last 24 hours—ensuring safety for 2,829 Indian seafarers (29 added recently). All ports function smoothly without congestion.
