New Delhi, 25 April (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has dubbed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal's residence at 95 Lodhi Estate as Sheesh Mahal-2, alleging that Punjab ministers are footing the bill for its lavish furnishings. The BJP claims this residence exemplifies AAP's ideological bankruptcy, accusing Kejriwal of pursuing self-serving politics.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj stated during a press conference at party headquarters on Saturday that AAP emerged with Kejriwal positioning himself as a political alternative. He made various promises to Delhi's voters as an offshoot of the Anna movement but later betrayed Anna Hazare. None of AAP's original founders remain with the party today, and Kejriwal has even double

crossed his closest friends.

Swaraj noted that AAP leadership always pretends to embody the persona of an ordinary person, but Delhi's voters have seen through their facade. Their theatrics failed to convince the public, leading god-like Delhi voters to reject AAP and Kejriwal, granting BJP a majority.

She questioned Kejriwal's common-man pretense amid contradictions, emphasizing that the issue is not luxury living but a veil of deceit and duplicitous politics rooted in lies. After losing elections, Kejriwal retreated to Punjab, misusing public funds for grandeur; now, neither an MLA nor chief minister, he occupies a Lutyens' government bungalow.

Swaraj highlighted Kejriwal's past vows against taking cars or bungalows despite grand promises to Delhiites. This should be a moment for AAP's introspection, not venomous outbursts. When a party's general secretary defects, it signals disintegration and ideological bankruptcy.

She condemned AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, for recent false statements against a female High Court judge, labeling AAP anti-women for opposing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam amendment and limiting women's roles to voting. Assaults on a female MP occurred at their official residence, and even the organization general secretary has quit—time for Kejriwal's self-reflection.
