New Delhi, 24 April (H.S.): The Delhi Pro Volleyball League (DPVL), designed with players at its core, seeks to elevate volleyball athletes beyond mere passion by offering professional growth, financial stability, and long-term recognition.
Announced in January this year, the league enjoys support from the Delhi Volleyball Association and Delhi Olympic Association. It emerges as a structured, professional, and sustainable platform that will create fresh opportunities for volleyball talent in the national capital.
Former volleyball players Neeti Rawat and Jasoda Gulia are actively shaping the league's preparations. This will be India's first women-led professional volleyball league, crafted by players for players.
Neeti Rawat, with extensive experience in sports broadcasting and media, will play a key role in expanding the league's reach and strengthening audience engagement. Jasoda Gulia's expertise in finance and strategic planning will help build a robust, sustainable sports business, attracting investments, sponsorships, and franchise partnerships.
Neeti Rawat stated, DPVL is a movement to change how volleyball is viewed and experienced in India. As players, we've lived this sport's journey closely and understand its immense potential. We know where it stands today and where it should be—we're committed to bridging that gap.
Jasoda Gulia added, This league builds a future where players compete not just for passion, but with professional development, economic stability, and identity. For us, it's more than a sport—it's life itself, so we deeply understand players' needs and challenges.
DPVL aims to create a holistic sports ecosystem encompassing player development, professional training, competitive exposure, and enhanced visibility through media and broadcasting. It also seeks to promote women's participation in sports administration, establishing an inclusive model.
Launching in 2026 with six franchise teams, the league plans to develop as a competitive and commercially strong platform, elevating volleyball standards across India.
