Madrid, 24 April (H.S.): Spain's tennis legend Rafael Nadal returned to the court during the Madrid Open, gracing a temporary court constructed inside Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Madrid Open organizers have set up a practice tennis court on the Bernabéu field, available for players until April 30. Recently retired Nadal, a five-time champion and avid Real Madrid supporter, has been the tournament's most successful player.

On this occasion, Nadal teamed up with Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for a friendly session, facing world number one Jannik Sinner paired with midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham had attended the Madrid Open on Wednesday, watching young Spanish debutant Rafael Jodar. Main matches continue at Madrid's Caja Mágica venue.

Nadal described the experience as special on Instagram: Playing on this unique court at Bernabéu was truly remarkable.

World number four women's star Iga Swiatek also participated in the event.
