New Delhi, 23 April (H.S.): The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will organise a three‑day high‑level chintan shivir (think‑tank camp) in Chandigarh from April 24 to 26. The main theme of the camp has been set as “Antyodaya ka Sankalp, Amrit Kaal ka Pratibimb – Viksit Bharat 2047”, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive empowerment and integration of marginalized communities into the mainstream.

The inaugural session will be presided over by Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar, with Ministers of State B.L. Verma and Ramdas Athawale also on the panel. The camp will bring together ministers, secretaries, and senior officials from various states and union territories, who will engage in dialogue on making the ministry’s social‑justice schemes more effective at the grassroots level.

During the camp, the ministry will launch several key digital initiatives to strengthen its outreach, including the Samavesh Portal, the NMBAA 2.0 App (Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan), the Setu App, and the SMILE App. In addition, a special handbook will be released setting out model guidelines for beggar shelters and minimum standards for mental‑health care homes. The National Institute of Social Defence will also sign new memoranda of understanding with various universities in the course of the event.

Over the three‑day session, parallel discussions will be held on priority areas such as scholarship disbursement, the Nasha Mukt Bharat system, dignified sanitation work (Mission Zero Death), and elder‑care services. Separate sessions will focus on the identification of marginalized communities, access to credit (financial empowerment), and accessibility and certification for persons with disabilities.

The primary objective is not only to identify current gaps but also to formulate short‑ and long‑term recommendations toward achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. By sharing successful state‑level models, the camp aims to build a framework for better governance and digital innovation. At the end of the final day, an official summary of the deliberations and a future roadmap will be presented.
