London, 22 April(HS): Master Dheer Samarth Mudgall was awarded a certificate by Members of Parliament, the Honourable Virendra Sharma and the Honourable Uday Nagaraju, in recognition of his commendable commitment to learning the Kannada language.

He has been pursuing his studies under the guidance of the Karnataka Border Area Development Authority—an undertaking of the Government of Karnataka dedicated to promoting and preserving Kannada language and culture beyond the state and across international communities.

On the eve of the Basava Jayanti celebrations at the Basaveshwara Statue in London, the enduring contribution of Basaveshwara to the Kannada language and literature was solemnly remembered. His Vachanas—profound poetic expressions advocating equality, social justice, and spiritual democracy—continue to inspire generations across the world.

The event formed part of the wider Basava Jayanti commemorations in London, highlighting the global relevance of Basaveshwara’s teachings and the continued efforts of the British Kannada community to preserve and promote their linguistic and cultural heritage.
