Kamrup (Assam), 21 April (HS): A tragic incident occurred in the Gachgumi area of Chaygaon, where a young man lost his life after a tree branch fell on him while he was attending a Bihu function.

The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Kalita, a resident of Jambari. He was reportedly enjoying the festivities when the incident took place suddenly.

According to reports, the incident happened late at night when a strong storm lashed the area, causing a tree branch to break off and fall on the youth, leading to his death on the spot.

The sudden tragedy has cast a pall of gloom over the locality, with locals expressing grief over the untimely loss.---------------
