Lucknow,

April 21 (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath staged the 'Jan

Aakrosh Mahila Padyatra' on Tuesday after the Constitution (131st

Amendment) Bill failed to clear the Lok Sabha during the Special Session. The

Chief Minister's foot march is being undertaken in protest of the failure to

approve the Women's Reservation Bill, which was opposed by opposition parties

in the Lok Sabha on April 17.

The

BJP is organizing a 'Jan Akrosh Rally' (Public Outrage Rally) that will be

attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP State President Pankaj

Chaudhary, both Deputy Chief Ministers, and a big number of women. The rally

went from the Chief Minister's residence to the Legislative Assembly. A big

number of ladies joined the foot march. Women state ministers also joined the

march. The Chief Minister questioned the opposition during the foot march.

Furthermore,

a large police force was deployed at several sites along the path of the foot

march. UP Minister Ashish Patel stated that the opposition has an undeclared

agenda against women and that women in the country should not be granted their

rights. When

the (Nari Shakti Vandan Act) Act was implemented in 2023, all parties joined

together to carry it out without any issue, but when it came time to bring this

law to the floor, opposing parties sought to prevent it. This is their

undeclared agenda against women, which states that women in the country should

not have their rights. We backed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act in 2023, and we

will continue to advocate on improvements to this Act in the future to defend

women's interests, Patel said.

Deputy

Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak stated that women are coming out of their houses

in big numbers to express their unhappiness. The manner the opposition has

stalled the Women's Reservation Bill is terribly disappointing. Women are

outraged about this. The Samajwadi Party and Congress will undoubtedly pay a

price for this in the future elections.

Mayor

Sushma Kharkwal responded to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's 'Jan Aakrosh

Mahila Padyatra', stating that although the Prime Minister provides women their

fair share, the opposition opposes it. For generations, women have demanded

their portion, and even if the Prime Minister grants us our share, the

opposition will oppose it... In the country, both the ruling party and the

opposition share responsibilities, and both should work together to advance the

country's interests. She went on to say that the opposition's intentions are

misguided.
