Guwahati, 21 April (HS): The Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch has arrested a cyber offender for allegedly creating and circulating an obscene video using artificial intelligence technology.

The accused has been identified as Madhav Barman, a resident of Birubari in Guwahati. He was apprehended based on a complaint lodged by Prag News channel owner Sanjeev Narayan.

According to reports, the youth allegedly used AI tools to fabricate an objectionable video featuring Sanjeev Narayan and Marmita Mitra. The video was later uploaded and circulated on a Facebook page, triggering widespread concern.

Following the incident, Sanjeev Narayan approached the Crime Branch, after which an investigation was initiated, leading to the arrest of the accused.

After arrest, Madhav Barman had held at the Panbazar Crime Branch police station and further investigation into the case is underway.------------
