Lucknow,
April 20 (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, while
speaking to the media in Lucknow on Monday, launched a scathing attack on the
opposition, especially the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress. He bluntly
said that the mentality of the opposition has always been anti-women and these
parties have always attacked the rights and dignity of half the population of
the country. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is going
to organize a huge 'Jan Aakrosh Rally' tomorrow (Tuesday) under the 'Nari
Shakti Vandana' campaign against the insult of women power and the stubborn attitude
of the opposition. Maurya said that this rally will give a reply to those
forces which have worked to stop the rights of women.
The
Deputy Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi tabled the draft
Women's Reservation Bill to ensure the overall upliftment of the nation's
mothers and sisters and their proper participation in legislative work.
However, the opposition, through its deep-rooted tactics and negative politics,
made a nefarious attempt to sabotage it. He said, This conspiracy by the
opposition was an attempt to weaken the nation's women power, which the public
will never forgive.
Attacking
the SP's PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) slogan, the Deputy Chief
Minister said the public has now fully understood this game. He stressed that
today, people from every section of society, every religion, and every
caste stand firmly with the public welfare policies of Prime Minister Narendra
Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The opposition has neither vision nor
honesty towards the public.
He
said that the BJP government has empowered women through initiatives ranging
from Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao to the Nari Shakti Vandana
Act. Law and order and development in Uttar Pradesh have instilled a
sense of security in women. Parties that practice appeasement and caste
politics are now marginalized. The Deputy Chief Minister concluded by calling
for tomorrow's public outrage rally to be historic and mark a new chapter in
the self-respect of women.
