Bhubaneswar: In response to the ongoing severe heatwave conditions, the District Project Office (RTE-SS) in Jagatsinghpur has directed a revision in school timings with immediate effect to safeguard students’ health.
As per the official order, all government, government-aided, and private schools in the district will function only from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM until further notice. The decision has been taken in view of the rising temperatures and associated health risks for children during peak daytime hours.
The directive mandates school authorities to ensure adequate precautionary measures during operational hours. These include the availability of safe drinking water and sufficient ORS packets for students to prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses. The order also restricts outdoor activities and strenuous physical exercises during school hours.
Authorities have cautioned that any violation of the instructions will be treated seriously, and strict action will be taken against defaulting institutions as per applicable rules.
