BJP to launch signature campaign in support of Women’s

Reservation Bill on Tuesday

Mumbai, 20 Apr (HS): Chief Minister Devendra

Fadnavis said that the Opposition has insulted 70 crore women in the country by

opposing the Reservation Bill. Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday is launching a

major signature campaign in support of the bill. The party will collect one

crore women’s signature in support of the reservation for women.

Fadnavis was addressing a press conference on Monday

in Mumbai and alleged that the Opposition was always against empowerment of

women. Their attitude is clear with the opposition to the Bill. During the

signature campaign the issue will be taken to every corner to seek support to

the women’s reservation. Congress, Sharad Pawar-led NCP and UBT Sena will

realise their mistake.

After Narendra Modi Government came to power in 2014

for the first time it had to face defeat in the Parliament, and the Amendment Bill

was rejected. BJP was first to elected women as Chief Minister in Delhi,

Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, which was not done by Congress even after ruling

for several years.

Fadnavis expressed confidence that reservation for

women will be implemented before the 2029 general elections.
