New Delhi, 16 April (H.S.):
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled a major skill development initiative Thursday, establishing state-of-the-art labs in four Delhi Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to align vocational training with modern industry standards. Existing facilities will also undergo upgrades, boosting employability and technical proficiency.
Jahangirpuri ITI: Power Electronics Hub
At ITI Jahangirpuri, a dedicated power electronics lab will feature PLC kits, VFD trainers, transformer setups, motor control panels, relay protection systems, solar PV kits, and smart energy monitors. Training covers power electronics, electrical controls, industrial automation, and renewables—benefiting 480 students in electrician, electronics mechanic, auto electrical, solar technician, fitter, refrigeration/AC, and motor vehicle trades.
Jail Road (Hari Nagar): Advanced Welding Centre
ITI Jail Road's welder lab gets comprehensive modernization with arc/MIG/TIG welding machines, gas/plasma cutting tools, welding simulators, and metal fabrication workstations. This transforms it into a cutting-edge center for 200 students in welder, fitter, turner, motor vehicle mechanic, and sheet metal worker trades.
Arab Ki Sarai (Nizamuddin): Automotive Excellence
Automotive labs at ITI Arab Ki Sarai will integrate VR simulators for driving, welding, and painting, plus modules on ABS, airbags, and electronic vehicle diagnostics. Serving 208 students in auto body painting and repair trades, it positions the institute as a Centre of Excellence.
HJB Mayur Vihar: Electric Vehicle Focus
A new EV lab at ITI HJB Mayur Vihar targets green transport, training 184 students in electronics mechanic, mechatronics, and allied trades on battery management, electric motors, charging stations, assembly, testing, and repairs.
