April 15 (HS): On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
launched the rollout of Tata Motors' 10 lakhth vehicle from its Lucknow
production site, marking a key milestone in the company's commercial vehicle
journey in India. The historic ceremony was staged at the Lucknow factory in
front of senior executives, including Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, to
underline the facility's expanding importance in the country's automobile
manufacturing ecosystem. The achievement highlights the plant's strong
manufacturing skills as well as its ongoing commitment to delivering
contemporary and sustainable mobility solutions.
Speaking
at the event, the Chief Minister praised the achievement, noting that such
industrial milestones boost Uttar Pradesh's status as a rising hub for manufacturing,
investment, and employment creation.
Uttar

vehicle at Tata Motors' Lucknow facility, marking a major industrial milestone.
The milestone vehicle was a zero-emission electric bus, demonstrating the
state's efforts to promote green mobility and sustainable development in the
region. Tata Motors' Lucknow
manufacturing facility, which has been in operation since 1992. The one
millionth car was a zero-emission electric bus, boosting UP and India's green
transportation aspirations.
This
success reinforces Uttar Pradesh's rising reputation as a manufacturing
powerhouse, which will help it realize its aim of becoming a $1 trillion
economy. High-level dignitaries, including Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran
and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, attended the occasion.
The
Lucknow plant is a 100% renewable energy and water-positive operation that
employs over 8,000 people. This event underscores the New Uttar Pradesh theme,
highlighting industrial success and investment, with the Lucknow facility
playing an important role in commercial vehicle manufacture.
The
factory is equipped with innovative production technology, including robotic
paint booths, robotic welding equipment in the body-in-white shop, and
contemporary assembly lines for completely completed automobiles. It also
includes an engineering research facility, which promotes innovation and
continual product development. Sustainability is a primary priority area for
the institution. Lucknow factory is classified as a water-positive unit and
uses a 6MW solar power system to satisfy a considerable percentage of its
energy needs. By 2030, the firm hopes to have completely switched to renewable
energy at its factory.
The
facility also features Re.Wi.Re (Responsible Waste Initiative), a car scrapping
and recycling unit that supports circular economy principles and ecologically
responsible disposal of outdated automobiles. The event is another milestone
for Tata Motors as it works to reinforce its leadership while concentrating on
innovation, sustainability, and future-ready transportation solutions.
In
a post on X, UP CM mentioned, “Today marks a historic chapter in Uttar
Pradesh's industrial progress. The flag-off ceremony for the 1 millionth
vehicle manufactured at the Tata Motors plant in Lucknow will take place. This
achievement will further strengthen the industrial confidence of the New
Uttar Pradesh and send a positive message to investors.”
