April 15 (HS): A walkathon was successfully organised by Headquarters Central
Air Command (Unit), Indian Air Force, Bamrauli, Prayagraj, on Wednesday to
commemorate the birth anniversary of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh, DFC.
The event was flagged off by the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Air
Command, at 0630 hours. The walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from
air warriors, officers, NCs(E), and their families, reflecting a strong spirit
of unity, fitness, and respect towards the legacy of one of India’s most
distinguished military leaders.
Participants
assembled at the designated point inside 29 Wing and followed a well-marked
route covering approximately 5 kilometres. The route included key points such
as DSC Hut at L Link and SRE Gate, with adequate water arrangements and safety
measures in place throughout the course. The event saw large-scale
participation, including spouses and children above 10 years of age, making it
a vibrant and inclusive occasion. Comprehensive administrative arrangements,
including medical support, ambulance services, and public address systems, were
ensured to facilitate the smooth conduct of the event.
The
walkathon served not only as a tribute to the unparalleled contributions of
Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh but also reinforced the importance of
physical fitness, discipline, and esprit de corps among personnel. The Indian
